Ferrari 250 GTO,
1st car granted copyright


The Ferrari 250 GTO, one of the iconic cars of the Maranello-based car plant, has officially been named a work of art with legal protection for its design. The June 20 ruling by the Bologna court came after a petition by Ferrari to protect its design. The Turin industrial union (UIT) notes that this is the first time a car has been granted copyright and thus become official a work of art.
 
 
 

Italy's Prosecco hills join UNESCO World Heritage list

The Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene on Sunday became a UNESCO world heritage site. The announcement was made by the World Heritage Committee in Baku. The 97 square kilometres of vine-clad slopes and borghi on the left side of the Piave River thus became the eight site in Veneto and the 55th in Italy to make the UNESCO list.

 

Hyundai develops new fuel-efficient engine technology


Hyundai Motor Group said Wednesday it has developed a new engine technology that sharply enhances vehicle performance and fuel efficiency and reduces gas emissions. 
Hyundai plans to apply its own continuously variable valve duration (CVVD) system initially in its 1.6-liter turbo GDi engine, which will be installed in the upcoming Sonata sedan later this year, the company said in a statement.

 
 
 

281.000 jobs created in South Korea
in June 

South Korea's overall job market seems to be improving, with the number of newly-employed people reaching a 17-month high.
According to Statistics Korea on Wednesday, the number of employed people in June was around 27.4 million, up 281-thousand on-year. 
That's the highest since January 2018, and the rate of increase has surpassed the 200-thousand mark for two months in a row.
