On the 12th of June, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Korea successfully held an event dedicated to the discovery of DOP and IGP certifications and of some well-known Italian food products. The event was part of the True Italian Taste project - promoted and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to increase awareness and consumption of 100% Italian products - and to introduce participants to eight DOP products from different Italian regions, such as Prosciutto San Daniele, Parmigiano Reggiano, Aceto Balsamico di Modena, Mozzarella di Bufala, Pasta di Gragnano, Pomodoro San Marzano, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG and Extra Vergin Olive Oil from the Valli Trapanesi in Sicily.
The event took place on Zoom in an interactive quiz format in which participants, selected food influencers attended the presentation of the Italian products and then challenged each other in an inherent quiz to determine the best contestant. The products were sent to participants before the quiz show, so that they could familiarize themselves with the products and promote those on their social media platforms.
The event was hosted by Alberto Mondi, a famous TV celebrity in South Korea, and chef Fabrizio Ferrari, who provided information on how to use the products in the kitchen and the recommended combinations for preparing dishes.
A series of generous prizes will be made available to the winners including: 2 days of cooking course for 4 people at the IFSE Italian cooking school in Seoul and an all-inclusive trip to Tuscany.
The attendees who participated in the quiz show took part in the quiz with fun and enthusiasm and had a great time together.
