New steady jobs rise by 148% in Italy

According to INPS (National Institute for Social Security) Italy has registered a net rise of 353,176 steady jobs in the first seven months of 2019.
This equals a net rise of 148% in comparison to 2018. In addition, there was a 57.5% rise in the number of temporary labour contracts transformed into permanent ones.

Samsung Display to invest US$11 billion by 2025 amid industry oversupply

Despite the current battle with severe oversupply due to weak global demand for smartphones and TVs, Apple Inc supplier Samsung Display said that they are planning to invest 13.1 trillion won (US$11 billion) on facilities and research to upgrade a production line of more advanced display screens. This plan is to try to overcome the crisis Samsung has been undergoing.

Italian products to get higher taxation in the US

According to a list released by the American authorities, the United States is set to put tariffs of 25% on Italy's Pecorino Romano, Parmigiano Reggiano and provolone cheeses. The taxation could come into force as early as October 18. However, other Italian products have been excluded from this plan.

Visitors in Seoul increase by 14% in August

Official data from the Korea Tourism Organization showed that the number of foreign tourists visiting South Korea in August rose by 14% from last year, reaching nearly 1.6 million tourists. Chinese and Japanese visitors remain the most significant number.
